Prism

we lie
breast to breast
hip to hip
restless writhing
my arms circled
around your sweat
my legs linked
around your trembling
as you spasm into me
groaning your release

later you tell me
you feel trapped

everything kaleidoscopes

fractures

into

focus

I held you
breast to breast
hip to hip
restless you writhed
against the noose of
my arms sweating you
strained against the
snare of my legs
trembling you spasmed
into me groaning
to be released

groaning to be
released from me

logos spermatikos

if I cannot
taste you on
my tongue then
will I taste
you in my
words my mouth
so full of you
I cannot swallow
fast enough words
runnel through fingers
splash onto gloaming
paper leave their
stains for me to
taste again with
every reading

Matins

more asleep than

awake you shift your

body along mine

your arm your leg

your breasts the nest

of your secret self

softly sliding against

my skin sinking slowly

into my soul you

hold me so close the

cat purrs her contentment

over both of us as she

settles herself more

securely into my side

I am nestled between you

the birds sing their first

morning hymns every

day still I am amazed

I am grateful I don’t

try to justify it

A'Maying

You shift still

sleeping my fingers

run like a swollen

creek over the pebbles

of your spine sluicing

caressing across your

skin my fingertips

chatter in delighted

abandon you sigh I

still catch my breath

tumble like a

waterfall

into you

a la seconde

the vining of our hearts

has become sinewy strong

resilient each supporting

the other my strength is

yours as yours is mine we

are separate intertwined

braided discrete this is

a bond that will always

be with each twining

stretch we determine

our individual paths with

each rebraiding we choose

to recommit each to the other

I am ever your girl you are

ever my beloved and the sighing

of our hearts will cause a numinous

world to tremble into silent stillness

perigee

sighing

you leave me as you

always must I am

complete unto myself

but my self longs for

the relentless stroking

of your restless tongue

salty and slippening

against my moistened

crevices yearns for the

fractioning abrading of

our molecules as you crash

into me our bodies trembling

with each invading thrust

and when you withdraw as

you must yet we do not quit

each other for we are bonded

even when we are apart

even when you leave me

sighing

Penrose

now we are three
(or perhaps, really, four)
somehow congruent
(but perhaps, not really)

stone, water, wood
we eye each other warily
wondering, trying
to make sense of
where we are each
in relation to the other

unresolved
dynamic
we are changed
even as we are
the same as we
ever were

but for the perspective
(or perhaps, not really)

Vesper Hymn

We are bonded,

arteries connected in a

criss-cross of capillaries.

You throb in my blood;

I pulse in yours, the steady

beat of me against you

(of you within me)

dusking a ruddy sky

with the stretching of

our veins. An evening

breeze slip-slithers across

our tangled limbs, you

trace electric fingers

through my curling hair and

I am flesh

and air

and liquid

turned to stone, arterioles and

venules flared and deepening,

suspended and eternal in those

half-perceived moments

when our hearts seize,

then tremble and rest against

each other, and then at last

decide to beat again,

connected and bonded.
